About Us
Loud Minds are a progressive art-rock band from Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire UK. Their sound is defined by heavy rhythmic riffs, soaring melodies, symphonic orchestration, and ambient synth instrumentation.The band features lead guitarist and frontman Joe Harding, bassist Joe Gallagher, and drummer and percussionist Ben Skipp, who all formed the band together as a side project while studying together at secondary school.The band strives to perform live to many venues all over the country, and are known for their energetic and dramatic stagecraft, original songwriting, and thematic storytelling. They release original music on all streaming platforms, as well as featured music videos on their YouTube.

Icarus is a punchy, gritty song that describes feelings of nervousness in anticipation of a critical moment. The lyrics address the uncertainty in rising emotional tension, and the constant cautionary reminder “don’t get too hot”, in other words; do not get too invested in a potential outcomes that may not transpire. The tension rises throughout the track before the words climatically declare “I flew too close to the sun”, showing how the character had got too close to the imagined future they wanted, but reality ended up burning down their dreams… burning them in the process.

Silent Witness explores how growing discontent towards the system leads to instability and eventually conflict; it follows the inner monologue of someone slowly turning towards violence against their country and its people.

With a 6-minute runtime, Articulate boasts a catchy riff, a dramatic chorus, and an epic outro
that is certain to captivate the listener throughout. The track explores the inner turmoil of someone struggling to reciprocate their partner’s deep love but can’t bring themself to tell them. The lyrics themselves are heavily inspired by a similar personal experience by bassist Joseph Gallagher, which he has often described as, “perhaps the hardest time of my life and hers”.
